Singapore National Eye Centre celebrates 20th anniversary
More than 2 decades ago, Professor Arthur Lim had a vision for a centre that would systematically attract, nurture and retain talented ophthalmologists in the public sector; be totally obsessed with quality control;; focus on research ( way before it became fashionable); establish deep relationships with other world class institutions and deliver cost effective patient centric care.
Many generations of eye care professionals and patients will owe him so much.

In Penang with Cashew Grassroots Leaders
We decided to hold our annual Workplan Seminar in Penang this year. It will be a good opportunity to review and refocus our plans, projects and activities.
Many of us haven’t been back to Penang for many years. Still a rustic, charming and green island. Hawker food is great!

Wearing a new pair of contact lenses, she put up a flawless performance in a Finals Games record.
Jasmine Ser and Cheng Jian Huan win Silver in the 10m Air Rifle (Pair) ; Gai Bin and Poh Lip Meng take Bronze in 25m Pistol (Pairs) in Commonwealth Games
Jasmine and Jian Huan saw an early lead erode as the Malaysian pair overtook them in the latter stage with a 793 to 790 point victory. I had a chance to chat with both of them before presenting them with scarves at the Victory Ceremony. Jasmine developed dry eyes mid way, and despite eye drops just couldn’t clear her eyes well enough. Poor Jian Huan was nursing a flu, and fighting drowsiness. Nevertheless, it was an excellent performance, and they have another day of competition tomorrow.
